Special steel sld8 is a new type of cold working die steel improved for SKD11. Its technical specifications are contained in Japanese industrial standard (JIS) g4404. It overcomes the weakness of SKD11's lack of high temperature tempering hardness and toughness, and will fully replace SKD11's high strength and toughness general cold working die steel in the field of general and precision dies. Its toughness is twice that of SKD11. The toughness of sld8 is more prominent in cold working die steel. There are few cracks and cracks in the tools made of sld8, which greatly improves the service life.

（1）被切削性，被研磨性良好。被切削性，被研磨性皆比SKD11，所以加工工具寿命较长，加工工时数较省。
